On Monday, March 20 Council agenda there is a staff report presenting a redevelopment strategy for the Nobleton Lions Community Park and area. It includes a new library, a refrigerated outdoor ice surface, enhancements to soccer fields, creation of pickle ball courts, new water amenities. At this point Council is being asked to endorse the strategy and to authorize negotiation with adjacent landlords adjacent to the municipal properties at 5885 King Rd. and 19 Old King Rd. The concepts presented are exciting and if realized as presented will be a significant change; importantly the next step includes undertaking a community consultation process to ensure that the vision presented aligns with the vision of the Nobleton community and its citizens.
I look forward to hearing what the community thinks about the concept. As noted in the report there will also need to be consultation with the Heritage Advisory Committee as 19 Old King Rd. Is a designated property with significant cultural and historical value. Its possible to build for the future without demolishing the past with
Please email questions and comments to clerks@king.ca prior to noon March 20 and such will be shared with Council and/or register to make a deputation.
