What To Do With Dried Up Markers?

Feb 23, 2026 | Miscellaneous | 0 comments

Keep dried‑up markers, crayons, broken pencil crayons and ink cartridges out of the landfill by dropping them at any King Township library branch  for recycling in a terracycle box.

The materials are turned into plastic pellets and remade into new products like outdoor furniture, decking, pallets, storage bins, playground surfaces and more.

These TerraCycle boxes add to #KingTownship’s waste‑diversion programs—repair cafés, e‑waste events, textile bins, battery recycling and our annual Community Yard Sale in May. All of this supports the King Community Climate Action Plan and our goal to cut community emissions 35% by 2030. Waste currently contributes 1,283 tonnes of CO₂e, making diversion more important than ever. Learn more at king.ca/WasteDiversion
