The budget for 2026 has been released and is available for review. I encourage you to review and to take advantage of the Public Open House on November 12th; budget will be presented to Council for approval on November 24. The Open House is an excellent way to meet directly with Township staff to ask questions to understand how your tax dollars are being spent and/or to ask why a certain service is not being improved or offered.
This year’s budget features no frills and maintains current service levels with minimum increases. The overall tax rate includes our previously-approved 1.99% increase for asset management (to comply with provincial legislation), and a 1.75% increase to the operating budget, for an overall increase of 3.74.
Here is the media release about the budget and its publication.
As always deputations can be made at the November 24th Council meeting and to do so please you will need to register at clerks@king.ca by noon on Nov. 24; if you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff. Having said that I encourage you to attend the Open House on Nov. 12th to ask questions and/or voice opinions. And, I am interested for you to contact me and/or comment on this blog.
