There are several agenda items for the 4/30 Council and Committee of Whole (COW) meeting of particular importance to my Ward.  If you plan to attend note that both meetings will be at King City Community Centre and Arena, 25 Doctors Lane, King City.

There is a public meeting for the application for the draft plan of subdivision and zoning bylaw amendment for the Mary Lake Estates/Culotta development.  This public meeting is not a statutory one but rather has been organized given the high level of public interest, the continuing evolution of the plan and the upcoming 6/18 OMB pre-hearing. At this point my point of view has not changed since my 2/29 posting.  Specifically, I struggle to see how the conditions of the zoning designation are being met.  That the development “ along the Keele Street frontage and the Keele Street/15th Sideroad node is generally compatible with the existing character of residential development north of the East Humber river;” and “at the southerly boundary, [the development] provides a transition to the abutting estate residential development.

In the COW there is a recommendation for a Master Consent and Development Agreement covering obligations of the Developer for works associated with the development of the 6 lots fronting Kettleby Road. At time of writing this I have only skimmed the report to recognize that this is very important as it addresses specific concerns raised by current residents as to the impact of this development on them:  specifically road conditions and risk to wells.  You can read the staff report here.
