Adult life style condos in our rural lands?!

Jan 24, 2013 | The Issues | 0 comments

Monday, January 28 there is a very important public meeting in regards to an application to make various amendments to two Official Plans to enable the development of an adult lifestyle condominium community on lands south of King Road and west of Mill Road (which is between 7th and 8th concessions.)  This is a statutory meeting as required by the Planning Act; it will be convened within the Council portion of the meeting and hence will begin shortly after 6PM.

You can read the Staff report here. It is clear that this application challenges every regulation and policy which influences land use.

I encourage everyone who is concerned about protecting our rural lands to familiarize themselves with this application and the issues.  The protocol for public meetings is that persons objecting or supporting an application can speak; there is no need to sign in.  (The latter is required when one wishes to make a deputation in regards to Staff reports in the Committee of the Whole.)
