On December 11 Council agenda there is a report recommending approval of budget and business plan for 2024. Given the approved York Region budget the blended rate in King Township increases about 3.54%; for a property assessed at $1 million this is an increase of $294/year. The Township portion of the blended rate is an increase of 4.98%. In the draft budget presented Nov.27 the proposed Township increase was greater at 5.49%; I am curious as to how it has been decreased as I don’t see that any program changed have been reduced or eliminated. To understand more about the budget and business plan see my earlier post. And there will be a presentation by Treasurer at the December 11 meeting.
The blended rate is a mix of current estimated York Region rate increase of 3.75%, King Twshp recommended rate increase of 4.59% and school board assumed 0% increase. The 3 rates are blended 42/40/18.
