On September 26 Council agenda there is a staff report presenting the Staff’s assessment that an application to install a cell phone tower on the south side the 15th sideroad west of 7^th concession meets our protocols. As reviewed in the report the municipality is not the approver of such applications but we do have a protocol which must be met. This protocol ensures that there has been appropriate community consultation and that it meets our criteria for it being appropriately situated.  As there has been a gap in coverage in this area its satisfying to see that a tower is being erected. I am pleased to see that co-location with other carriers is permitted and that there will be minimum disturbance to the landscape with no trees removed.
