The draft Official Plan for King Township is now posted on the Township web. Hard copies to read will be available in the Township libraries. To read the draft please go here; and at same place you can also read background information. By its nature this is a very big document. I urge you to look at the index and select the specific topics of particular interest to you. In January and February there will be public meetings where your points of view can be heard and you can hear what others think about it. I am also very interested to hear from you directly; please make comments on this blog or email me directly at dschaefer@king.ca.
Hi Debbie,
Am slowly, very slowly going through the draft and one thing that has popped up is a contradiction as to where the eastern boundary of Lloydtown actually is. Page 41 showing the village of Schomberg indicates that the Schomberg/Lloydtown boundary is several hundred feet east of the sharp bend on Church Street while Schedule “E4” indicates that the eastern boundary runs from the bend south for a hundred feet or so and then follows the eastern boundary of my property.
As Lloydtown is a hamlet, with its designation as such, there are several restrictions concerning development that Schomberg does not have. Consequently, I think it most important that this be clarified and the contradiction be resolved.
Regards,
Mike
Hi Mike, Looks like you have spotted a critical issue to resolve. I am going to forward your comments to Planning so that they have opportunity to research etc. before the public meetings which will be held in January and/or February. If you find other issues please send on to me and/or email officialplanreview@king.ca.
