Metrolinx is working towards delivering a very different service on the GO train corridors; specifically electrified trains every 15 minutes or better, all day and in both directions within the most heavily travelled sections of the GO network by 2025. (To date I have heard that the Barrie corridor between Union Station and Aurora fits into the latter.) They are now at the stage of hosting meetings to review with the public the impact of building the infrastructure required to electrify the network of GO trains and to review their proposed mitigation. Here is the formal notice/invitation There is one meeting in our area: Wednesday, July 5 at Newmarket Community Centre at 200 Doug Duncan Drive. Formal presentation is at 7 but runs from 6:30-8:30. (To clarify…you can go to any of the meetings.)
