Future of Forests in YR and King

Earlier I hi-lighted a report reviewing the status of the tree canopy in York Region and the good news that it is growing.  Now there is an opportunity to learn more about that report and to ask questions related to the subject of the forests in King and  in York Region.  Concerned Citizens of King Township (CCKT) is hosting two speakers from York Region Forestry Services, Ian Buchanan and Kevin Reese.  Ian is Manager, Natural Heritage and Forestry Environmental Services; I have heard him speak and I know this will be a very informative event.

CCKT is holding a general meeting Thursday, April 27 7-9PM at King City Senior’s Centre on Fisher Street, King City; on their agenda is The Future of Forests in York Region with the speakers identified above.  The meeting is open to all.

    Hi Debbie,
I am delighted to learn that the new Town Hall is to be a plus for EP! That is really constructive news.It makes very good sense so the new building will be not just attractive but fitting for the sustainable principles King Township has espoused and promoted. It fits with us personally too… we are putting an easement on our property so more of the Happy Valley Forest can be conserved.
