On September 15 council agenda there is a report addressing an application for a heritage permit to permit restoration work on the Marylake Gatehouse. The report identifies the specifics and reviews the rationale for approving the solutions to be implemented. In addition it is recommended to make a grant of $12,000.  I do concur with the different recommendations As reviewed in the report the gatehouse is part of the Marylake Monastery Shrine and the work is being done by volunteers. I am very pleased that restoration is being initiated but but I do want to understand to whom the grant is being given and how quality of work will be monitored.
