On June 2nd Council agenda there is a report regarding an application for a zoning bylaw amendment for 1600 Graham Sideroad. The amendment is being requested to enable an accessory building to be used for a micro distillery, on-farm shop and cafe, and office associated with the existing agricultural operation. As reviewed in the report there are several amendments being requested which do not comply with the provisions of the agricultural specialty crop zone which is the zoning for this particular property. From the report I don’t understand the magnitude of the differences between the amendment and the current zoning bylaw; I look forward to learning more at the public meeting. I am also interested to know whether the current agricultural activity is going to be maintained and if so if it is being curtailed by the proposed new activities
As this is the statutory public meeting Council will not be making a decision on June 2nd. As indicated in the report it is staff recommendation that this be referred back to staff in order to complete their assessment and to take into account public comments.
To present your comments about the application and/or ask questions at the Council meeting you need to register at clerks@king.ca by noon on June 2 or If you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff.
