Motion on Micromobility

On Nov. 2 Council meeting there is a motion by Councillor Asselstine, seconded by Councillor Boyd.  It requests that the Province of Ontario establish a comprehensive provincial micromobility framework that addresses e-bikes, e-scooters, seated electric scooters, hoverboards, enclosed mobility scooters, and other emerging micromobility devices, while preserving municipal authority to address local operating needs.

I fully support this motion.  The current situation whereby each municipality is creating its own regulations is too confusing.  Given the potential harm to both riders and those “in the way” this needs to be addressed.
