We are very fortunate to be able to easily and quickly access many trails. And there will be more: new trails are being planned in the Nashville Resource Management Tract (NRMT). NRMT is owned by Toronto Regional Conservation Authority (TRCA); its north/south borders are King Road and Nashville Road with the east/west ones being Hwy 27 and Albion-Vaughan Road. These 720 hectares are within Humber River watershed and offer an amazing opportunity for “being in nature.” A Public Advisory Committee has been developing trail plans for over a year and are now wanting feedback from the public. 1st public meeting is Monday October 21 7PM at Nobleton Arena; another one is Tuesday Oct. 22nd 7 PM at Albion-Bolton Community Centre. I attended a couple of the Public Advisory Committees and was truly amazed at the process. There were such knowledgeable persons there ready to offer site specific information on the land; there were others with insight to advocate for certain kinds of trails. We talked whether sections of the trail should be walking only, walking and cycle friendly, accessible, horse friendly etc. etc. Real practical issues of vandalism was talked. I know that next time I am on any trail I will be much more appreciative of the thought & effort behind the design.
