A very unique experience is being planned for July 1.  There will be lots of celebratory features on the schedule including a variety of musicians and of course fireworks.  In addition, as one small way to acknowledge that Canada was rich in culture long before 1867, invitations were made to First Nations to participate and they have accepted.  There will be fun for all ages.  Here is the poster...

Metrolinx is working towards delivering a very different service on the GO train corridors; specifically electrified trains every 15 minutes or better, all day and in both directions within the most heavily travelled sections of the GO network by 2025.  (To date I have heard that the Barrie corridor between Union Station and Aurora fits into the latter.) On Council June 12 agenda there is report presenting a plan for building 3 km of quality sidewalks in several areas of King City which have been deficient for far too long.  Target areas are Keele south of King Road, King Road both east and west of Keele.  As reviewed 33% of cost are anticipated to be covered under partnership programs with York Region.  Unfortunately it is not happening as fast...
