Welcome to my blog! MY primary objective is to alert my constituents and others in King Township about issues being reviewed at the upcoming Council meetings. I do this as I believe the quality of Council decisions is enhanced when the public is engaged. I hope that residents will make deputations and/or send emails to Council to express their opinion and/or to ask important questions. Also, I include notice of meetings and events which I think are particularly important. I welcome your comments, whether you agree or not with me, and only edit to eliminate inappropriate language.

As I have expressed many times this exercise cannot be accomplished quickly enough; but, I am still concerned that it be quality work. Hence, I...

At October 17 Council meeting there is a statutory public meeting for the review of a draft zoning by-law for marihuana production facilities. It addresses the zoning requirements for establishing such a facility in the Township. This is the opportunity for the public to ask questions, show support or indicate opposition. If you would like to do so, come to the Council meeting; there is no...
Greenbelt or….swiss cheese?
The review of the Growth Plan and Conservation Plans is coming to a close. I have written about it several times. Last week shocking news was released; in addition to considering policy changes the Province has received 650 requests from developers and municipalities to remove lands from the Protected Countryside of the Greenbelt. The number is shocking but also is the fact that the Province...
