Welcome to my blog! MY primary objective is to alert my constituents and others in King Township about issues being reviewed at the upcoming Council meetings. I do this as I believe the quality of Council decisions is enhanced when the public is engaged. I hope that residents will make deputations and/or send emails to Council to express their opinion and/or to ask important questions. Also, I include notice of meetings and events which I think are particularly important. I welcome your comments, whether you agree or not with me, and only edit to eliminate inappropriate language.

On June 15 council agenda there is a report about the process for establishing the 2024 budget i.e. the timeline for reviewing and approving. In addition the report indicates that staff is estimating that the tax levy increase will be between 4% to 5% for 2024. I do have some questions about the identified budget pressures. In another report on the agenda Council is requested to approve the...
Voluntary Contributions

One with ORCA (the developer building Mansions of King) whose voluntary contribution of $6.3 million will be directed to the Township Wide Recreation Centre. The other is with Tribute for a voluntary contribution of $1.3 million which will be directed to community revitalization...

The report is seeking approval to single source without a RFP with TRCA. As reviewed there is good reason for this procurement decision. I can't speak for the issue in Nobleton but I do know that the one in Kingscross is long overdue. As we have just agreed to...

From reading the report I understand that there is the possibility that the current sanitary system may not have the capacity to service this new...
