Welcome to my blog!  MY primary objective is to alert my constituents and others in King Township about issues being reviewed at the upcoming Council meetings.  I do this as I believe the quality of Council decisions is enhanced when the public is engaged.  I hope that residents will make deputations and/or send emails to Council to express their opinion and/or to ask important questions.  Also, I include notice of meetings and events which I think are particularly important.   I welcome your comments, whether you agree or not with me, and only edit to eliminate inappropriate language.

Another single detached house on Keele?

At the January 30 council planning meeting one of the applications being presented is for a site specific zoning bylaw application for a property on west side of Keele to facilitate a severance.  The proposal is to have both lots zoned for single detached residential.  The timing could not be better for the proponent! 2023 Budget

First agenda item on January 23 Council agenda is 2023 budget with a property tax increase of 4.95%.  Given the overall economic picture, particularly the interest rate increases and inflation on food and fuel I know that there will be disappointment.  My initial response was relief that it was not more. Budget Open House on January 18

Draft 2023 Operating and Capital Budgets will be available for review in-person January 17 6-8 PM at an Open House at the Municipal Centre.  Have your chance to review the budget, have your say, and ask questions of Township staff.  Here is link to the budget documents.   The budget will be on a couple Council meetings coming up.  See here for details.

By-law Investigation Map
