Last year’s Harvest Ontario Walk to Stop the 413 was a huge success and also a lovely day out in sunny, autumn weather. This event is organized by a large coalition of environmental groups and local residents including Grandmothers Act to Save the Planet, EcoCaledon, Seniors for Climate Action Now, Concerned Citizens of King Township, The Wilderness Committee and the Unitarian Congregation of Mississauga and that collective energy makes it a ton of fun!
Citizen protests resulted in the Greenbelt carve outs being reversed. Let’s do the same for the 413 which is another attack on the Greenbelt. There are several different places where you can join the walk; to see where and when see here.
The walk close to home is the King-Vaughan Road Walk – 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, October 14.
Climate Action King (CAK) and Concerned Citizens of King Township (CCKT) are hosting this walk along the King-Vaughan Road. It will be mostly street parking, with a few spots at TRCA location on Mill Road. Car pooling encouraged. Bring your Stop the 413 Signs!
