Staff have submitted a comprehensive report on how to move forward with beautifying the streets in the 3 villages.  It is good to see us moving away from decisions about individual elements to meet a need and to now have a holistic strategy for the next 5 years.  As we are below desired standards there is obviously the need to expand and increase our inventory of such things as hanging baskets, banners etc; the report includes this with appropriate attention to budget constraints.  But, I am particularly pleased to see inclusion of maintenance and the inevitable replacement of assets so that we actually see a trend of continual improvement.  As indicated in the report, there is still consultation to be done before Council gives approval.
