September 6th I participated in our 4th meeting of the Task Force leading the development of the sustainability plan for King Township. We saw draft visions and goals from the 4 pillars: Economic, Financial, Socio-cultural and Environment. We then drafted our 1st version of an overall vision. We were updated on efforts to get input from the businesses and residents of King Township. Given the summer season the latter has been challenging but with the plans in place for the rest of September we are hopeful that we will see a substantial increase in respondents to our survey.
The survey is short and but very important. We need to hear from you as to what you love about King and what you want to see changed.
If you haven’t answered the survey yet or if every member of your family hasn’t responded yet please do one of the following.
Answer the survey on line. Here is the link.
Or, find our booth at the Kettleby Fair on Saturday, September 11th OR at the Schomberg Village Street Gallery on Saturday September 17-18 and answer the survey there.
Or, go to Municipal Offices or to King City library to get a Vision Card to fill out. There are numerous other locations throughout the Township with the cards. You can see a list on our sustainability website.
The Task Force is targeting to have a final plan in January 2012.
In addition to answering the survey there are other ways to participate.
Attend the public meeting on a date yet to be confirmed. (Note: this meeting is advertised in both the weekly papers published Sept. 7 as being September 27th. It needs to be rescheduled as the 09/27 is the date for the provincial leaders’ debate. Watch this space for new date! )
Add data to the community map on the sustainability website. We want this map to feature King Township’s natural, social, cultural and economic resources and features.
I am very much looking forward to September 13th when the Task Force meets with all members of the 4 working groups; it is the first time we will be together since June.
