Trees are starting to get attention at the Council!  At the beginning of the September 26 council meeting there is a deputation regarding King Tree Canopy and Woodland Cover. It is being given by James Lane, a manager from Natural Heritage and Forestry York Region.  I believe this deputation has been triggered by questions and interest that was clearly expressed at the June 13th council meeting when there were two presentations about trees.  Community Services presented a draft tree management plan for the publicly owned trees in King.  Climate Action King made a deputation entitled “We Need To protect our Trees: an argument for a private tree bylaw.”  I encourage people to join the livestream to listen to this presentation.
