Walking For Seniors

This Saturday (1/26) I begin my walk to raise funds for CHATS (Community & Home Assistance to Seniors).  I have committed to walk 40,000 steps (50 km) in the week beginning 1/26.   Happily I am not doing it alone!  Others have pledged to do same across York Region; and here at home, Mayor Pellegrini and Councillor Eek are doing so too.  The three of us registered as a team:  the King Chatterers.

I appreciate very much that many people have already made pledges.  In case you haven’t as of yet but were thinking of doing so here is the information for supporting me and/or the other members of the team.

You can do so on-line; click here.  Or, if you prefer, send a cheque to my attention at the Township Office (2075 King Road, King City ON L7B 1A1) payable to CHATS Walk for Wellness; I will ensure that it is deposited and that you receive your receipt.

A pledge in any dollar amount is much appreciated- large or small – it all helps! Tax receipt will be issued.

I am so impressed with an organization aspiring to enhance the health, wellness and independence of seniors and the caregivers!  It is so important that there are options for all of us as we age as to where we want to live.  CHATS (Community & Home Assistance to Seniors) does just that; it helps keep the option of living at home a viable one. So, I am delighted to be doing this although a bit warmer temperatures would be desirable! (Perhaps the cold explains my pained look in the photo!)012813 walking
