Have you occasionally been interested in an issue being considered at York Region Council but couldn’t make it to the Council Chambers on time?  Audio streaming is now available concurrent to the actual council meeting.  You can access it here.   This is a good first step.  Although I appreciate that there are concerns that politicians start playing to the camera I think visual & audio streaming is entirely appropriate; furthermore, it should be available on demand as much of the population is not able to tune in at 9:30 AM.  The issues before YR Council are significant; access for the public should be easier.
