15 Charles Severance

The Council agenda for Tuesday, June 17 (note: not Monday) includes a staff report recommending approval of applications for Official Plan amendment and Zoning bylaw amendment to enable a severance at 15 Charles in King City.  I am not comfortable with the process to facilitate this severance. As required by our Official Plan the proponent has compared the outcome of their application (i.e. two lots rather than one at 15 Charles) to the neighborhood they have defined.  Their definition is not consistent with the definition in our Official Plan and accordingly the proponent is proposing a site specific policy. Given that we are going through the process of amending our official plan I think the topic of neighborhood identification for purposes of severance applications should be dealt with in the official plan and not on a case by case basis, such as this.

As always deputations can be made. To do so please register at clerks@king.ca by noon on  June 17 or If you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff.
