Age Friendly Community Action Plan

On March 23 Council agenda there is a report with the final  Age Friendly Community Action Plan.  At time of writing I have not read it completely but certainly intend to as I think it provides very important  direction to Council as to how the Township is to evolve.  As noted in the report a draft plan was presented at Council earlier in order to receive feedback from Council and public.  To read the report and the appendices go to Council agenda and scroll to 12.1.

Speaking of age friendly communities, what is the latest update on Mary Lake Long Term Care facility? And, are there any other similar plans for more long term care facilities and assisted living in King Township?

For update on St. Rita at Mary Lake LTC suggest you contact it. As indicated in the Age Friendly Community action plan the need for those services/facilities in King is recognized.

The presentation and content of the aging plan in King is impressive. As a potential beneficiary, I appreciate the housing and transportation plan. Also, I am already getting involved in programs and activities for seniors as a volunteer and facilitator. I find engaging with King seniors rewarding, enriching and inspiring. Many thanks for the creative energy that went into such a comprehensive plan. I hope the housing needs can be fulfilled rapidly.
