Another informative afternoon session on natural heritage features in King Township is being hosted by the Sustainability Committee on Sunday February 23rd at the King City Library. At this session you will hear from at least 5 groups/organizations which are leading stewardship activities in King. You will hear what their goals are, how they go about their work and how you could get involved. Some of the groups you will hear from are Humber Watershed Alliance, Nature Conservacy of Canada, Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust, Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority, Cold Creek Stewardship Committee. The session begins at 1:30. Here is the agenda.

The 1st afternoon event hosted by the Sustainability Committee was held on 1/26 and was a great success. People lingered after the formal presentation to ask questions and probably would have stayed even longer if it wasn’t for the snow starting to blow. The topic was “wetlands & streams in your back yard;” presenters were Ducks Unlimited and Toronto Regional Conservation Authority. Our local paper, The Weekly Sentinel, published an excellent detailed summary of the meeting; you can read it here.
