Development at 13131 Keele

September 7th council meeting includes a public meeting for an application for a a zoning bylaw amendment to enable construction of five townhouses fronting onto Dennison at the corner of Dennison and Keele. Consistent with comments I have made previously about residential development in King City I believe this application has merit: it provides a different residental format; it’s location with proximity to schools, York Region Transit, GO station, library and grocery store makes it ideal for intensification. Having said that I am not supportive of the plan presented in the report. The site is too small for five town houses; this is well demonstrated by the requests for variances from the setbacks and permeability limits in our zoning bylaw. And finally, its a very poor design as it shows five driveways onto Denison. This is the statutory public meeting; no decision are made; it is the opportunity for the public to ask questions and/or make comments.  Public can register with clerks@ king.ca to make a deputation and/or they can send their questions and comments in via email.  Requests for deputations and emails for council review should be sent in by Tuesday noon hour.
