On December 11 council agenda there is a report recommending a new bylaw for fees and charges in 2024.  Fees and charges are set to recover costs to provide the services which the Township provides which is everything from renting a room, accessing a rink to skate and processing an application for a minor variance.  For those fees and charges that have been adjusted, staff provided an explanation/justification for these changes in the body of this report.  Traditionally, fees and Charges have been developed and recommended using a combination of the direct costs to deliver the service and in some instances the inclusion of overhead and administrative cost components. In addition consideration has been given to benchmarking with the market and neighbouring municipalities for comparison. The estimated financial impacts of the recommended fees will generate $469,797 in additional revenue to offset the overall tax rate which have been incorporated into the 2024 Budget process.
