Festive Greetings and Good Wishes to All

Dec 20, 2020 | Debbie in the Community | 7 comments

This holiday season is not like any other we have experienced.  It is truly a time when it is important that we acknowlege that no one is an island and that our actions can significantly help or harm others.  We are all tired of the restraints on our activities but we need to continue to be cautious by maintaining distance when we meet those not in our bubble and to wear masks.

As I celebrate Christmas I do want to wish you a Merry Christmas.

I apologize for being late but I also wish a Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate it.

Debbie, can you please tell me if Villanova is built on the Oak Ridges Moraine? Is Marylake Estates built on the Oak Ridges Moraine? Are the 1000 homes being built on the 15th & Dufferin on the Oak Ridges Moraine?

Hi Arlene, 1. Yes Villanova is on ORM. I think that it was permitted as its institutional and it was originally part of Marylake which of course predated ORMCP. Villavoa lands were either gifted or a leased. I am not 100% sure; I should know and will follow up in new year. 2. Yes, the subdivision on south side of 15th SDRD is in ORM but it is also in a designated settlement area per ORMCP. Hence it is/was zoned for residential development. 15th SDRD is border of settlement area and is northern boundary of King City urban area. The controversy about this development was not about being on ORM; rather it was about density. 3. when you say 1000 homes you are referring to northeast landowners development I assume. Same answer as # 2. King City urban boundaries are Dufferin to Jane and 15th SDRD south to municipality southern boundary which is 1 lot north of King Vaughan line.
