I am walking for CHATS

“Walk for Wellness,” the annual fundraising event for CHATS (Community & Housing Assistance for Seniors) is underway.  I believe that CHATS provides valuable service to our senior citizens; with the services of CHATS people can continue to  live with independence.   If you too believe that CHATS is important to our community please consider supporting my walk for wellness by making a donation of any size.  Here is information about the event.

If you would like to support me but prefer to write a cheque please make it out to Walk For Wellness; mail it to me at Township Office, 2075 King Road, L7B 1A1. No matter which way you make your donation you will receive a charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes.

From the first time I learned about CHATS I have been impressed with the diversity of its services including  in-home help and care, Meals on Wheels, transportation, home safety services, wellness/social programs, hospital-to-home care transition and on.  Vision, professionals and >500 volunteers are delivering independence.  I am very happy to do some walking…and this is the 6th time!

    Dear Debbie,

We’re happy to support your Walk for Wellness to fund-raise for CHATS. That agency has been helpful to us and we applaud your devoted support of its work. We know it is part of the United Way network and glad to add to the efforts for seniors.

Dear Virginia and Tom, Thank you for your support. And I do like hearing from people who have specifically benefited from their services as it reinforces to me how important they are to Seniors. Both of you are very independent people; but I can easily imagine how CHATS can be just the right help for a task which has become too much, at least at that particular point in time.
