The  Council Chambers are finally open to the public!  You can participate in the council meeting by either coming to the Municipal Centre OR by tuning into the live stream.  Procedural bylaw for the hybrid meetings was discussed at the March 20 Council meeting.  Council approved opening the Chambers and having hybrid meetings.  Final procedures were not approved as Council did not agree with some of the details; Council gave direction to changes wanted and the new procedures will be released once written up.

Of importance:  meetings will continue to be on Mondays (with the necessary exceptions due to holdays) starting at 6 pm.   To  my disappointment it will still be required to register to make a deputation by noon on the day of the Council meeting whether you attend in person or virtually.

I think the hybrid meeting on March 20 was pretty good.  I viewed the live stream a few days later and provided some feedback about camera placement (i.e. what was being shown on the screen) and I know others did also.  From the response I got to my feedback I am very confident that it is only going to better next time.  I do hope that people do start coming to the Council Chambers but if not possible I am glad that the livestream option is there.
