On September 14 Council agenda there is a report enabling the designation of Kettleby Christ Church and the Parish Hall under the Heritage Act. As reviewed in the report the first step is for Council to state its intention to designate the property in recognition of its cultural heritage significance and that Staff be directed to issue the necessary notice. The report is very comprehensive in providing information as to why this designation is very appropriate and worthy. I am very pleased to read both both the Anglican Diocese of Toronto and the local congregation have collaborated with the Township and have given its approval.
To read all the appendices of the report go to the council agenda and scroll down to 8.1. Attachment 2 is the statement of cultural heritage value.
Attachment 3 is a very interesting research document. In the latter I was interested to learn more about the Kettleby Women’s Guild and specifically the tireless efforts of the Women’s
Guild. This is a photo of Miss Constantia Fox, one of its members, iaying its cornerstone n November 1933.
As always deputations can be made. To do so please register at clerks@king.ca by noon on September 14 or If you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff.
