King Heritage & Cultural Centre

To improve accessibility the King Heritage & Cultural Centre is undergoing facility renovations including new accessible doors on all entrances and an accessible administrative desk, washrooms and gift shop. When the project was included the 2022 budget I smiled as I thought about how far we have come:  in 2013 we agreed to sublet a portion of the Museum, as it existed then, to the developer building the Kingview subdivision and in return the proponent built what is now the gallery at the east end and the small kitchen.  Between then and now there have been other upgrades to the facility including the restoration of the early 20th century classroom and renovation of the room storing archives.  And now we are implementing significant enhancements for accessibility!

Due to the construction, the site is partially closed to the public as of Aug. 11, 2022. Public access remains open to the East Gallery, Laskay Hall, King Railway Station and grounds during regular business hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
