Monday, December 7th Council meeting is the statutory public meeting in response to the applications made for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to enable the creation of a new lot in Kingscross. Earlier I posted the official notice for this meeting. Here is the Staff report.
The fundamental purpose of this meeting is to hear the response from the community. As is identified in the report the recommendation made to Council is to receive the report and to refer it back to Staff to consider input heard at the public meeting, in addition to assessing other information yet to be received from outside agencies. There will not be a decision made about the applications. Staff will table another report when they have completed their review; this could be in a couple months OR it could be many months later if it is determined that there is more work/analysis required. If you have a point of view on this issue, now is the time to present it if you are really seeking to influence the outcome. This is definitely the meeting to attend if you want to understand the application as there will be presentations from Staff (present their report to which I have provided a link) and from the proponent.
As it is a public meeting you do not need to sign in when you go the Council Chambers. Meeting starts at 6PM and the public meeting will begin shortly after that as this is the only agenda item on December 7th.
Hi Debbie,
Re: Kingscross Council meeting Dec 7, 2015
How lucky we are to have you representing
us on Council. The meeting was civil, your
comments well spoken, showing a sincere interest in the situation.
Hopefully it will have a happy outcome,
which to me would be to allow this application, but not any other severances in Kingscross. Perhaps this would satisfy
both Pro and Con residents.
I think it was a very good meeting as both sides were able to present their information and opinions. Whether this application is approved or not approved property owners will still have the right to apply for amendments to official plan and/or zoning bylaw amendments.
