Magna International is coming to King City! There truly will be “prestigous employment” at the lands designated for such in the southeast quadrant of Jane/King Road intersection. Local media has speculated on who the property owner would be but the actual plan has just been announced: Magna has acquired the site to consolidate their Greater Toronto Area headquarters there along with R&D operations; when completed there will be 650 new jobs in King. As the press release indicates Magna is submitting an application for a zoning amendment; even though we have always referred to the site as prestige employment, it is still zoned as it was traditionally.
This is wonderful news to receive. King is indeed privileged to be chosen by Magna for its International Offices. I can see many positive benefits. JBC
