At Oct. 21 Council meeting there is a public meeting for a zoning bylaw amendment to permit a model home being installed at Carmichael and Keele Road.  If you wish to comment, ask questions there is no need to register ahead of time.

I am very much opposed to allowing this zoning bylaw amendment.

Sorry I missed the meeting on October 21. I would like to comment that I do not think it is a good idea to permit a model home being installed at Carmichael & Keele Road. It would be permitting a commercial venue in a residential area. Not what the residents were anticipating. It is like giving permission to a variety store or a coffee drive through to be installed. What are your views on this matter, Debbie?

I don’t think your description of the proposal is complete in that the proposal is for a TEMPORARY sales office with very limited hours. I don’t think your comparison to a variety store or drive through is relevant. I am sympathetic to the residents’ concerns given that they have endured the consequences of a very popular lottery homes being on their street; for these homes there were long line-ups with a number of persons. Having said that I don’t believe the proposal of a sales office for a small very high end residential development will have comparable interest. I think we should be exploring how to address the issues raised.
