New Nature-based Recreation in Our Backyard

A wonderful new opportunity for nature-based recreation is being developed in our backyard: the Nashville Resource Tract Management Tract (NRMT).  The is 820 hectares in the Humber watershed south of King Road and east of Hwy 27; the recreation is trails for various interests & needs (easy walking, hiking, accessibility, horses, bikes).  Toronto & Region Conservation (TRCA), who owns the property, has been working on a plan to both provide the recreation opportunity and to protect this very valuable natural heritage system; as I wrote about earlier I have attended some of the advisory committee meetings and was very impressed with the bold goals for this land mass.  There are two public meetings to update public:  Wednesday 5/28 Kleinburg Library and Thursday 5/29 at Dr. William Laceby Nobleton Arena.
