Our Museum is re-opening!

The re-opening of our Museum is being celebrated with an open house.  If you can make time on Saturday February 9th 11AM -6PM do drop in.  There will be some wonderful things to see.

An exhibit of Garry Conway’s monumental nature photography; you can meet the artist.

A presentation on Happy Valley and other natural areas by Nature Conservancy of Canada.

A small number of works from ASK artists will be on display in the newly renovated museum foyer.

That day is also the opening of the Genview Presentation Centre which is occupying the east end of the museum.  It is the show room, the sales location for the luxury homes being constructed north and east of the Museum and its grounds.  For this temporary use the space was renovated and expanded.

When the Centre is no longer required this new refreshed and larger space will be turned back to the Museum.  In addition, the negotiated settlement for this innovative space sharing agreement included  Genview completing important maintenance on the museum building (e.g. new roof).   Finally, there are changes in the interior:  but I won’t say more…go see for yourself!

When you are checking out the Museum you can also see the Genview Presentation Centre.  There will be a ribbon cutting at 12:30.

    Hello Councillor Schaefer

Um, it wasn’t closed. It’s been open since last fall following the repairs needed because of the roofing accident caused by the Genview construction.
