Welcome to my blog! MY primary objective is to alert my constituents and others in King Township about issues being reviewed at the upcoming Council meetings. I do this as I believe the quality of Council decisions is enhanced when the public is engaged. I hope that residents will make deputations and/or send emails to Council to express their opinion and/or to ask important questions. Also, I include notice of meetings and events which I think are particularly important. I welcome your comments, whether you agree or not with me, and only edit to eliminate inappropriate language.

With my eyesight significantly restricted I attempted to work my way through an artificial maze mimicking the challenges of a blind person using York Region's door-to-door shared transit service for people with disabilities (i.e. Mobility Plus) to reach a doctor’s appointment from my home. Around me were other York Region elected officials and citizens artificially restricted with other...

Below are some particularly important ones. King City Festival June 15, 2013 starting at 11AM Fun and entertainment in the King City Memorial Park and on Keele Street. More details here. Official opening of the...
Mary Lake Estates —timing correction

I provided incorrect or at least incomplete information about the timing for the development to occur. Physical work on the site could take place before the 167 draft conditions are cleared. The applicant could apply for an earthworks permit and pre-servicing agreement in advance of...
Designation By-law for “Shift”
As I communicated earlier Council voted to designate “Shift” as being of cultural heritage value or interest on 2/25/13. By-law to reflect this decision was passed 05/27/13. Again, I can truly say that I am proud to have been participated in this decision. You can read the full bylaw here. For me the “essence” of why this is important is very nicely summarized in the closing paragraphs of...
