Recreation and Community Masterplan

On November 29 Council agenda there is a report with the Recreation and Community Masterplan which is an update to the one done in 2013. The report is asking for Council’s endorsement. The masterplan itself begins on page 45 of 76; it is preceded by a paper developed for recreation in Canada entitled “Pathways to Well Being.  The breadth of the master plan is very wide; for those interested I encourage you to attend the council meeting as there will be a presentation about it.  As I started reading this report I was struck by the renewed definition of recreation which was included in the Pathways to Well Being paper: “Recreation is the experience that results from freely chosen participation in physical, social. Intellectual, creative and spiritual pursuits that that enhance individual and community well being.”
