Scouli Development

On June 15 Council agenda there is a recommendation to approve applications relevant to the Scouli Development.  The latter is part of the King City East development area which includes a total of 1,029 residential units.  The proponent has proposed reduced lot sizes across 16 lots in order to create an additional 5 lots.  This would add additional unit types and variety for potential buyers seeking a more affordable option relative to the other lot and dwelling types within the subdivision.  I concur with the staff recommendation that the proposed lots would be appropriate and compatible with the character of the surrounding neighbourhood while providing additional diversity flexibility in housing options to the community.  To .see all appendices  go to Council agenda and scroll to 12.7.

As always deputations can be made. To do so please register at clerks@king.ca by noon on June 15 or If you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff.

I’m sorry, but I am very skeptical about a development that has requested an extra 5 lots to allow for affordable housing when their “starting” price is 1.8 million in this development.
Curious what the pricing will be for these extra affordable housing lots.
