Statement To Designate

On November 2 Council agenda there is a report recommending that Council state its intention to designate the property at 2220 King Rd.  I am very much in favour of this.  The statement of cultural value makes it very clear that there is no question that this prominent building at Keele King Rd. should be designated and indeed is a very important one.  As included in the statement the actual structure/architecture is of merit.  And very worthwhile is the “story” of the building:  both as to how it was used, including being a post office but also that it was built by Harvey Davis, one of the sons of James Davis in the tannery business.

Deputations can be made. To do so please register at clerks@king.ca by noon on October 5 or If you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff.
