October 9 Council agenda includes a couple Staff Report covering important pre-requisites for building our new recreation centre.  First there is the 60 year lease for the land at Seneca for a nominal fee.  And there is the award of a contract for architectural and engineering services.  As I was reading the latter I was at first concerned as the cost of the latter is proving to be much greater than budgeted; but with further reading it is indicated that the additional costs will be covered by sources other than tax supported sources.  Although I am relieved as to how the incremental costs will be covered I will be asking how our budget for this service was so grossly underestimated.
