Below are some public meetings recently scheduled which I believe will be of interest to my constituents.

• York Region Transit is hosting a Public Information Centre in KING on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the King City Library regarding their 2013 Annual Service Plan. Planning Staff will be there to solicit feedback to proposed changes.

• A number of Working Sessions have been scheduled for Council.  These Sessions are public i.e. public can listen but cannot make deputations.   Council receives the information/presentation and asks questions; recommendations are not made in this meeting.  The benefit is that it educates Council, and all who attend, on the subject matter. In addition one gains an understanding of the future processes for moving the item forward.

The sessions have been scheduled for 4PM and will end before 6PM to allow for a break and supper before the start of the Council meeting at 6PM.  Below are the specific dates and topics scheduled to date.  I expect that more will be scheduled as I have already requested one additional session on the topic of updating our Official Plans.

May 28^th               Transportation Issues/Roads Needs Study

June 11^th              3^rd Party Mass Gatherings/Events  (4 – 5 pm) at 5 pm Audit Committee

Oct. 15^th               10 Year Capital Plan & Reserve Strategy
