On Monday, May 2nd I registered as a candidate for the upcoming municipal election on October 24, 2022. Specifically, I have registered to maintain my position of Councillor for Ward 5 in King Township. Much has been accomplished during my time on Council. It is evident that my learnings and experience of twelve years, coupled with my demonstrated skills and commitment, are required to address the challenges ahead of us.
I want to participate in making and implementing the best decisions to reduce and mitigate climate change and to grow our communities in a sustainable manner. Success will come only with a vision of possibilities and a solid understanding of the issues.
We are in a time of significant change. What was once good enough is no longer adequate. What has not changed is the need for your elected representative to act with integrity and to be transparent. If you want me to continue as your Ward 5 Councillor I will need your vote. And, I would welcome your offer of support for my campaign in the form of your energy, time and/or a donation.

Great news, Debbie! It will be crucial to have your intelligence, experience and hard work at the Council table. You read every report, no matter the issue, no matter what Ward it concerns, and take every issue with the utmost seriousness, always giving a relevant and considered response bearing in mind the sustainable effect on the Township as a whole. Having had you as a Councillor has been more than refreshing when the status quo no longer works for a better future. You should be part of decision making going forward….all the best.
