On February 2nd Council agenda there is a report reviewing a zoning bylaw amendment application for a property south of Hwy. 9 and west of Weston Rd. The application is to enable a lot boundary adjustment resulting in the reconfiguration of two existing parcels of land. The proposal does not contemplate the creation of new lots nor does it consider the development of any additional residential units. As I summarize below the land designations of the property certainly indicates the need for Planning to assess the impact of creating a lot less than the minimum lot area required by the zoning bylaw. In addition to understanding Planning’s assessment of this I am also interested to understand why the proponent is seeking to make this change; said differently “how will life be different once the boundary adjustment is done.”
The application is of interest as a portion of the property is located within the Oak Ridges Moraine (ORM) natural core area, the ORM natural linkage area and the Holland Marsh (HM); the other portion is located within the HM area and the agricultural policy area. In addition there are several key natural heritage and hydrological features within the general vicinity. To confirm location see here.
As always deputations can be made. To do so please register at clerks@king.ca by noon on February 2 or If you prefer you can e-mail your comments to clerks@king.ca and they will be distributed to Council members and appropriate staff.
