Welcome to my blog! MY primary objective is to alert my constituents and others in King Township about issues being reviewed at the upcoming Council meetings. I do this as I believe the quality of Council decisions is enhanced when the public is engaged. I hope that residents will make deputations and/or send emails to Council to express their opinion and/or to ask important questions. Also, I include notice of meetings and events which I think are particularly important. I welcome your comments, whether you agree or not with me, and only edit to eliminate inappropriate language.

Final draft of Zoning Bylaw for Countryside
At the September 26 Council meeting the final version of the new Zoning Bylaw for the Countryside area of King Township is presented with a recommendation for approval. Importantly, the new bylaw...
Exemption to Permit OPA Application on Hwy 27
On September 26 Council agenda there is a staff report recommending that an exemption to the moratorium restricting Official Plan Amendments (OPA) applications be granted. Unlike a similar request for an exemption about which I have written previously regarding a proposal for a condo block on Dufferin, the recommendation is to grant the exemption only so that staff can accept the application...
Hybrid Council Meetings
On September 26 council agenda there is a staff report about council meetings in the future: the 2023 schedule and the format. I am very enthusiastic about the plan to move to hybrid meetings whereby members of the public can choose to watch and participate either by being in the council chamber at the Municipal Centre or from the comfort of their home or wherever they are that evening....
