Right To A Healthy Environment

At the May 11 Council, I hope that my fellow Council members will join me in approving a declaration of the Right To A Healthy Environment.  At our last meeting Council received deputation from students of County Day School asking King to pass such a resolution.   You can read it here.  In addition to being proud to pass such a resolution which I hope will inspire other municipalaties across the country to do so and that in turn this will lead to such being included in our Charter of Rights and Freedom, I am so pleased to see our youth taking such action.

Hello David, 1st..thanks to your presentation at Sustainability Committee a couple months ago, the Committee was well primed/educated to review the report with Country Day resolution. And…what a wonderful event yesterday…has an AGM ever been so exciting? To attend the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust annual general meeting at the Glassco property was very special. So good to see you there.

This is certainly an encouraging initiative. I’m glad to see King Township moving forward with the Municipal Declaration on the right to a healthy environment.
